The Company follows the Principle of “Prompt Service and Personal Attention” The Royal Electric Company was started by Mr. Ratilal Shah in 1941. It was taken over by his son, Mr. Hasmukhlal Shah. Nowadays his grandson, Mr. Devang Shah is at the helm of the business and looks after the working of the Company. The fourth generation of the family, Mr. Yash Shah – son of Mr. Devang Shah, is also devoting himself and acquiring the acumen needed to get ready for the challenges of the business world. It has been a 80-year journey for the Company and the family is proud of it.
The family prides itself on its technical ability, acquired through a myriad of qualifications and professional degrees. Mr. Hasmukhlal and Mr. Devang are both Electrical Engineers and Mr. Devang Shah are also alumni of IIM-Ahmedabad. Mr. Devang’s son, Mr. Yash has recently completed his M. Sc. in Electronics and Electrical Engineering with Management from The University of Glasgow, UK. As is evident, exemplary education, tradition, and business insight is running through the veins of the family. The Royal Electric Company undertakes complete electrical works right from designing up to the final execution of industrial, commercial, and installation projects. They have successfully undertaken the electrical rectification of several retail outlets of McDonald’s, Reliance Fresh stores, Sahakari Bhandars, Godrej Nature’s Basket. Over the last 35 years, they are the first choice for Electrical Contracting for the American Consulate and the British Deputy High Commission offices and residences in Mumbai apart from other diplomatic missions. The Godrej Industries Ltd and The Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, whose offices have been done by them including Godrej Space Office.
They have also undertaken projects for the offices of many foreign airlines at the newly christened Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharah International Airport-Terminal 2. The Royal Electric Company has designed and executed several retail showrooms and service stations for Toyota – Millenium, and Lakozy. They have also completed the electrical rectification of the 20,000 sq. ft. factory of Chipita (I) Pvt. Ltd. – a world leader in confectionery products and cream spread production. Their direct client list also boasts plenty of Bollywood personalities. They have recently completed the electrical design and execution of residences of Bollywood stalwarts like Mr. Hrithik Roshan and Mr. Rakesh Roshan, Ms. Priyanka Chopra, Ms. Rani Mukherje, Mr. Uday Chopra. Mr. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Ms. Nisa Godrej – Industrial leaders, are all part of the 4000+ client list of The Royal Electric Company. The electrical installation of the Design Cell at IIT-Powai was completed by them. The audio systems used in the box offices of Fame Adlabs, Inox, Cinemax, etc; all are using the design specifications issued by The Royal Electric Company. They have also worked with many Architects and Interior Designers of repute.
With the arrival of Mr. Yash Shah into the business, they have started two new verticals – Home & Commercial Automation and Home Cinema Design, in keeping with the tradition of continuously adapting to the ever-changing needs of society. Mr. Yash Shah has recently completed his CEDIA EST2 Certification in Automation and Home Cinema Design from the UK and is the only one of two Indians to possess the certification. Mr. Devang Shah would like to advise the current generation of Electrical Contractors that don’t just think about an idea, ink it out. Write it down step by step and get organized. Keep yourself abreast of Government registrations, statutory requirements. Do a detailed study of the tasks at the planning phase and ink out your execution plan at the same time. Everyone should prepare a list of vendors to procure the right type of material with the necessary details and credit terms. Always view a customer’s job as if it were your own and give it personal attention. Measurement sheets should be attached with the bills in a computerized format and not handwritten to improve the presentation skills.
